Dear windsurfatlanta.org,
In case you hadn't noticed it, you are the web site of the Atlanta Boardsailing Club. For some reason that perhaps only your therapist can understand, you insist on posting pics and vids of remote spots of the world while making disparaging comments about your own home. We don't want to say that you are basically pooping in your own home, but you are. Even puppies know better than that.
How about a little more focus on what a wonderful place Atlanta is.
Sincerely, A concerned Atlanta citizen

Dear Concerned Citizen,

Hey, thanks for the friendly reminder. But don't worry, if you weren't reminding me where I live, the Fulton County Tax Commissioner sees to it that I don't forget. And, should I need something more frequent, the City of Atlanta Water Department drops me a friendly note.

But I stray from my point. Ah, the beauty of windsurfing in Atlanta. Yes, those warm and caressing zephyrs. Oh, how the gentle winds of North Georgia beckon me. Perhaps, I've been too harsh and forgotten how good I have it. It's never my intention to foul my own nest. The internet being a visual medium, let me find a more accurate depiction of our conditions lest our on line friends be misled.

Raging winds at Old Federal
Why look, here's Old Federal Park, a favorite of local kitesurfers. The ingrates, not a single one is in the picture.

And, perhaps we do overstate how good things are elsewhere - the "grass is greener" syndrome and all. What's it really like elsewhere? I'll bet our correspondent Dimitri is rigging 9.5 just like we are. Actually it's his lucky day, maybe 8.0

Peak Gust 37 knots
4.5 or 3.5? Rig them both for a total of 8.0.

And, on Lanier, you are never really alone. The lake is full of like-minded folks enjoying the fun, sun and good vibes.

Party!

Meanwhile in Guam, this poor guy is having to drink his beer almost by himself. Is that any kind of life?

I'll bet that beer tastes good.

Concerned citizen, I see your point. But, we're still going to be posting pics of other spots. We're just weird that way.
