*Kona winds are offshore, unlike the usual prevailing winds which are onshore. You'll note that everyone is going right instead of left like you see on most Maui videos.
In accordance with the Mayan prophecy, Chris Voith regrets to announce the 34th Annual and Last Fall Classic, October 20-21, 2012 on the soon to be consumed grounds of the Lake Lanier Sailing Club.
If, by cosmic intersession, the world does not end in 2012, we also look forward to seeing you in 2013 for the 35th Annual Fall Classic.
ryanroberts1983, a recent transplant from FL, has been kind enough, to set up a windalerts.com page for Lake Lanier: Lake Lanier on windalert.com. Check out this thread on the forums for more info.
Chris Voith, an LLSC member, also suggests the web cam on the LLSC website can be a fun way to check the wind. They also have a weather station which can be viewed on site or through weatherunderground. We aren't deeplinking the LLSC links because as much as we're bombarded by search engines, I don't want to kill their bandwidth by sending the bots to the live cam feed with a direct link.
