At the big Surf Expo trade show in Orlando this past weekend, the buzz about The Windsurfing Movie was like nothing I've ever encountered. I haven't seen it, but I'm convinced it must be like nothing this sport has ever seen. We heard about how it screened at events in Europe and other places -- even in non-windsurfing venues like major events at ski slopes and international action film festivals in which it has taken the top prizes. We even heard it had been shown in theaters and people PAID to come see it. Wow. The word is the story line and production values of this effort make it a work of cinematography that stands on it's on, beyond the windsurfing aspects, interesting and entertaining to people who don't know anything of windsurfing or care about it.
