Hey guys,
I picked up a used mountainboard for cheap on FB Marketplace and mounted a chinook base on it.. voila Windskate!
I'm looking for some good (flat and smooth) spots to give it a go. Any suggestions? I know Randy windskates, not sure if anyone else does. Bonus points for spots near Sandy Springs.
I'll be sure to post some pics of me falling on my face, as one apparently does while learning to windskate

There are some places but all have constraints, in terms of directions or availability. Check your PM for a list. BTW - bonus points apply. Check my 2020 video.

Randy is the guru of windskate. If he doesn't know it, most of the rest of us are useless.
Forgive me for being momma bear here but, windskates are tough on gear. Use old booms and small sails. Helmet, pads, etc, of course, because you accelerate quite quickly on pavement.
Looks like fun. I'm sure you've scouted out all the videos online? There's a Canadian guy, Guy Trudeau (but, of course), that's done a bunch of windskate videos.
The most important safety gear is a wrist guard and a helmet. The normal tendency if you fall off is to try to break the fall with your hands. Even if you never take a bad spill, you can hit your head on the mast much more easily on windskate than windsurfing because there is very little room between you and the mast. I never ride without both.

Oh yes, I’ve done some digging online, I’ve got an old 5.3 and a mast and boom that are perfect for this.
Guy Trudeau’s videos are pretty cool, but don’t expect any freestyle tricks from me.. haha
And I’ve got a bunch of safety gear for BMX/MTB that should work just fine.
