When you try to sneak into the windward mark

Found this today. It was a "test" regatta last month for the European IQFoil championships now happening in Greece. The action is taking place at the first (windward) mark. Competitors have been sailing upwind and are rounding the yellow inflatable mark to head downwind. I've started the video a bit early so you can see them working upwind. fwiw, I understand about half of what the commentators are saying. We didn't talk a lot of windsurfing or drones in the house when I was growing up. Biggrin

At 1:17:39, a Chinese competitor(CHN1) tries to come in close to the mark on port tack - left hand in front so he has to avoid the whole parade of starboard tack boards coming in. The problem is that he's a bit close to the mark. He tries to round it but he collects a souvenier - he's hooked the mark anchor rope with his foil. I've done this a couple of times so I can see the humor in it. Poor fellow is stuck there a while. You see him 40 seconds later at 1:18:18 turning the board over to see how well his macrame turned out. Lol (Again, something I've done.) And he's still there as the last sailing competitor rounds the mark (again, being last is something I'm pretty good at.) About a minute later there is some English commentary if you want to stick around and see some good technique.
