;DHad a real nice trip - saw my nephew get married, ate some good food at the parties, and had 3 days of sailing, two of which were quite fine. Friday the wind was disturbed by a series of T-storms with some impressive wind & rain, during one of which I sheltered under my sail in the lee of a jetty, pulling the mast down hard against the rocks so it wouldn't get away. Saturday after the wedding ( on the island ), I noticed the wind seemed to be notching up somewhat unexpectedly. I made my appearance at the reception, but left in time to catch some pretty kicking wind - 5.6, flattened out with 93L wavey board. Flat water, bump & jump & small waves. Sunday was similar, not quite as strong, and I got out much earlier. On the same gear, I spent two or three hours on the outside, mostly by myself, working the small surf just outside the bars. It was very mellow, good training, and a lot of fun. Later I did some instruction, and just practiced jibes & such on the inside. Very peasant day, fun weekend - cost me ten hours driving and $35 for gas. Come with sometime.
You know I like Charleston. I am ready. By the way Chris P. I am ready to sell those summer booties to you if you still want them. You will recall that I proposed selling them to you last year at Indian Pass. I am ready now. Let me know.
Chris,
I was supposed to be there the past weekend...but our little boy got sick on Firday. Will try to go in a couple of weeks.
BTW, seems like there was good thermal wind. The weather report showed wind only around 10mph on the weekend for Charleston.
