After a little slow start where we waited for Gene to finish his lunch so the wind could come up, turned out to be a real good day at OF starting a little before 3pm. Alan, Gene and I foiled, having a lot of good long flights for about 2 hrs. With arms not holding up anymore and hoping to not run ourselves to ground and risk recovery for Wed, we called it quits around 5. Langdon arrived at around 5:30 and was planning on taking 2nd shift at OF. Roland also came around then, not sure if he was going on the water.
I rigged 7.6 and 1100 wing, probably one of my best foiling days at Lanier. Gene on 7.5, Alan 7.3. Sorry, no pics.
I thought 1st shift had used up all the wind.
But after about 20mins on the water it came up for 30 mins or so before the electricity began.
Water was flat...so easy to pump on to the foil.
Did not have to play Dodge Boat.
Chris V, Chris P, Zee, Barrett, JP and I took the middle shift at Van Pugh. Not enough wind, then 15-20+ and finally settling to a nice 10-15. Mauricio, Ed and Dmitri took the late shift. Water is shorty comfortable even for me. I tested it several times blowing jibes and getting a good nasal irrigation. It seems that jibing a 4.7 and 7.7 on a foil is almost like two different things.
Nice to see JP going out. He's been in Atlanta a while but this is his first venture out on a windsurfer here. Welcome.
