Gene and I did a drive by. Despite a decent breeze away from the lake, the 82 degree temps were killing the breeze on the water. Decided to do my bike ride in Atlanta where it was raining. Went anyway. Fenders on a bike are a good thing.
What a great day. The kind you dream about all winter. We had a good 10-15 for about an hour and enough wind for several hours for those of us on 8somethings to foil all around. A bit of thunder from rain n. of Gainesville but we stayed dry the whole afternoon.
With Gene, Jim Crooks (great to see you again!), Howard, Alan, Chris V, Chris P, Zee and Mike sailing out of Aqualand.
Veep for me. I'm working up in Gainesville today and if it clears out this afternoon, I may saunter over to VP today as well.
I am going to try VP this afternoon. Will be at a campsite on Lanier Tues - Fri and might try launching from there
Might do VP 2nd shift today if the winds aloft come on down
Gilmer seems to be just waking up. If things continue to improve, I'm thinking 1:30 ish.
Anybody go yesterday?

yes, yesterday. Gilmer was showing 10-20. Trees looked good. Car window was down. Got to the lake and saw Gene. Maybe 5-7 on the water.
Howard and I are at VP
Waiting
Worth the wait!
