Other than the fact that it was sublime foiling - butter smooth, surprisingly decent wind for 90+ degrees and barely tippy tapped a couple of foiling jibes- got a good scare today.

Was thinking about coming in when I noticed flashing red lights in the parking lot where Jim and Pat had just derigged and were parked. Got a little close and could see that it was probably Hall Co. EMS. Oh, crap! Were they (Jim and/or Pat) okay?

I managed to get one last gust in and foiled almost all the way. Saw somebody (was that Mauricio?) waving at me. Was he saying hello or about to tell me that someone had just passed out?

I got in close enough to shout, "Is everything okay?"
Mauricio, "Sure."
Me, "What are all the flashing red lights?"
Mauricio, "Oh, I don't think anything." (I guess he missed the dead bodies?)

I scrambled my gear into the grass and went up to see both Jim and Pat. They were fine. Turns out EMS said they were just "practicing". Hopefully with this weekend's tragedies on the lake, this was a real answer, not just something to make us feel better. Well, they didn't seem in a rush.

Short version: Jim and Pat are still healthy and happy. Mauricio went out as I left. I was a happy camper.
