I see 20 mph gusts in the forecast for Thursday, so I have my gear loaded ready to head to the best launch on Lanier for wind conditions. I'll decide where when the forecast is updated.
William says Van Pugh better based on sailing at Old Fed. this week. The problem is wind shadows from offshore islands at Old Fed. That's my experience as well. Despite the wind shadow along the shore at V.P., once you get out on the main body of the Lake, the wind is unobstructed.
Current forecast shows West winds with some south in it Thursday and some north in it in Friday. I may do old fed Thursday and VP Friday. Or I may just go where everyone goes. It'll probably be around 3.00 tomorrow for me.
Its been amazing how many perfect foil days this week. Looks like one could get his fill again today and tomorrow. Wind shadow from the islands has been manageable.

The shadow is worse close to water level.
Not everyone is "tall"
RIP Vern Troyer. Dude was really cool in real life.
VP was very SSW. We had to get all the way out to the channel but once out there it was wonderful. At least 15-20. Along with Alan, Barrett was wired on 8.5 (until he made the mistake of switching down from his JP SLW to RRD 120) and I was holding on to 7.7 on the foil. Chris Pyron was having fun on a Mistral longish board and Hamdi was cruising on his Kona. Richard and Sam Genet came by to say hi.
Getting close to doing that foil giby-jibey thing. Still bouncing a few times on the water coming around but it's not the massive chaos it used to be.
I can't be there tomorrow but it looks glorious.
Edited because my tired brain overused the same "the best" adjectives "the greatest" amount of times. Bring it on, I deserve it.
I got to Old Fed around 5:30 And the wind was pretty light. Gene was already sailing when I got there.
The wind picked up a little later and I was able to get some flight time.
When a windsurfer tries to tow another windsurfer, it doesnt work very well but Langdon towed the small sailboat right in. I guess a sailboat has less drag and the sailor can actually steer it. Langdon made it look easy, it was glorious?

Barrett
We had 20 in the gusts today. Just remember the air is very warm so 20 isn't January 20.
I think I can get going with a May 20
Alan
I will try to be there.
Viejo Federale ?

Wan Pieuw?
Okay VP, I should be there by 11am

I plan to arrive at VP early afternoon.

Hey Langdon,
I'm hearing that you towed in a "shipwrecked" sailboat this afternoon. Good work dude!!
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
Langdon's rescue was glorious!

Tim Carter towed me once when the mast track came out of my Mistral Prodigy. I think it was really hard but he managed it.

Chris V. towed me in once when my mast disconnected. I paid it back by towing in the rescue jetski at Clark Hill.
