Thursday is popping up with a dot. Both Euro and GFS showing 8 to higher gusts in advance of the incoming rain. After the rain, Friday is looking pretty good, too.
I think I am going to definitely give it a go Friday. Still trying to figure out tomorrow. Saturday sort of faded away in the latest forecasts. Looking forward to hanging with people.

What's the preference of Old Federal versus VP? I need education?
With SW there’s a wind shadow at Van Pugh, some don’t mind it some do, depends on what you’re schloging out on.
SW at Old Federal is on shore wind so you can get in and out a little easier which is a bonus especially if there’s storms in the area you might want to duck in and avoid. Only drawback of Old Federal is the three islands upwind can do weird things to the wind but still offers a good fetch from the island to Port Royal Marina. Your distant cousins the kiters prefer it here.
Van Pugh is definitely favored with winds from West to North. little to no wind shadow and a nice fetch all the way to 3 sisters islands or Aqualand depending on the direction.
I just watched the weather forecast and the showers seem very scattered and not much of a threat. Looks like today might offer the strongest wind/gusts so I am going to check out OLD Federal. Probably get there around 11:30 and plan to stay until about 4:00. Hoping to experiment with a new High Aspect Foil I just received...Armstrong HA1125 & V-Tail. Its suppose to glide like crazy and pickup the smallest piece of chop for surfing. My friend in FL says he needs about 9-11K to fly it and he weighs 15lbs more so hoping I can utilize this Foil in sub 10K...almost same as HS1850 lift. Might take some practice!!!! So if you see me dripping wet....excuse number 11
Just arrived. Evidently I beat the wind here!! Nothing happening yet. But I will start rigging and hope. It’s 12:55pm. I am at Old Fed. Oh, just felt breeze on my face!
Neil grabbed all the wind before Gene and I could get any. Wind blew best as I was driving up. Could see white caps in the channel when I arrived. And, then, pffffft...
Any other beginners or intermediate going out today and willing to share the learning journey? Thinking Lake Acworth or Old Federal? Appreciate any word from the veterans too. Thanks.
Hey,
I would be happy to help. Are you Foiling? Winging? Let me know if you need any help deciding on equipment. You definitely can waste money buying the wrong gear when it comes to foiling. I can’t go today and the weekend isn’t looking too
Promising but Monday looks pretty good as of today.

Ok, it’s 5 minutes later. LOl. Wind is here!! Too funny.
Wind is picking up. 8-12k guessing. But water is turning dark with the gusts. Very flat with no chop at old fed. Good time to test this foil
Nobody around. Me and Sasquatch. You got no thongs here!!
Headed up. Last day on the water for a while. I guess Old Fed
