Re: Super Deal on Windsurf Boards

This looks like the junk cars on someone's farm.

The Seatrend 75s might work for someone as a foilboard. The Mistral 266 was a popular board in the day - lots of fun with a small sail. The Windsurfer Comp would be a decent board, as would the Techno 283 (but it needs those pesky trimbox fins). The rest of those are worth $50 or less -as most of these are 20 years or older. It looks like all these have been sitting in the sun so you need new straps and the deck pads will probably crumble so you'd actually be better off buying a $200 board from this century.

Maybe they'd take an offer on the few boards - this has been up on ebay for a bit.

I always wondered where old boards go to die.

Re: Super Deal on Windsurf Boards

I would guess that if sold around here at most 2-3 of them would sell for $100-$200 (the Bic, the big Seatrend, and possiblly another if it cleaned up well), and the rest would go unsold until the seller gave up. The again, it would be great for the Christmas Party gift exchange:

"You get a board, and you get a board, and you get board, everyone gets a board."

Now 11 boards $249.

I suspect the seatrends and mistral greenie would be worth it but they are 500 miles away. Honestly, better deals on the Windsurfing Classified facebook page

Re: Super Deal on Windsurf Boards

William,

As I read the listing the $249 is the big 12 foot board only. He mentions he has others and will entrain offers so who know you might get the whole lot for that. He may be under the (mistaken) impression the 12 foot is the most valuable of the bunch. Anway, depending on the condition $249 might be a reasonable price for the best 3 of the bunch if you didn't have to spend $200 for gas, rental truck and cheap hotel to get to them. I wouldn't want all 12 - how would you get rid of them? (Of course at one time I would have probably rented truck and driven down there to collect them all.)

Oops. You are correct, sir. Well, it's his money paying the ebay listing fees. Dash 1

If I had to take all eleven boards away, I'd find a landfill on the way back from FL. For the sake of the sport, most of that stuff needs to pass gracefully on. Maybe we could take them to a glue factory?

If it makes you feel better, one of those "used sporting goods stores" is trying to sell a crap 30 yr old HiFly for $800 up in Kennesaw.

I think after the atomic apocalypse, only cockroaches and 80's blow molded boards will still be around.

This stuff looks like it would be useful for a Mythbusters episode: "Are windsurf boards really bulletproof".

If they are, then booms qualify as weapons of mass destruction. Shok
