Things recently learnt re: foiling (or not)
• There is a girlfriend perception of virtue in trying.
• Trying is not doing.
• It is at least 100 yds from the shore at Bananarama River Windsurfing Resort to 5ft of water depth.
• A shorty does not cover your legs nearly enough when trudging at least 100 yds through cold-ish water.
• The recently acquired factoid re: the proclivity of Bull Sharks to attack in less that 5ft of water is not reassuring... at all.
• Tips and advice from them-whats-done-it does not lead to foiling success in the absence of wind.
• Eduardo cuts right to it when you describe your experience so far– "Yeah, yeah. Zee Rodeo, you got to do that, then you roll it up and land on the sail, si?"
• The rig is far more important than your feet in getting the foil AoA right... rake and trim!
• Easy does it. (More like a 12 HUNDRED step program, if you ask me).
• Haven't broken anything, (board or pilot) so I'm not done yet.
Just got back from the river. Lots of people there - no whitecaps, but there was some dark water from time to time and I sailed 6.2 about an hour. Rain started to fall as I was driving home. No much current today so I guess they are done dumping from the lake, for now at least.

Thinking about going myself. VP would be rough for shortboarding on anything south of west, so maybe sunrise.
Hope to join everyone
Watching it too... fresh from yet another failed foiling foray
Might go to LLSC for SW

How long did it take you to become proficient at windsurfing? How much time on the water have you had, so far, with the foil?
Might be a correlation here.

Leaving now to meet Stephan at Sunrise.

Just got back from
Sunrise.
No body there.
No white caps.

There was somebody there - Stephan, Ed and myself. No white caps but it was a mellow session- the wind steady and the water very smooth.
The water is still too damn cold.
