We need a couple of buoys to practice jibing around... something that is safe for sails or my face to hit

BTW AJ, always been meaning to ask - what happened in 1998 to make you so crabby and irritable?

Randy, deleted my comment. Prior to seeing yours. TVAW isn't deserving of my humor this early in the day.

1998? It's when I made my public debut: https://windsportatlanta.com/sites/default/files/pastnews/199912.pdf (page 2)

Actually, that was 1999. But, Prince already had the rights to that so I went for 1998. No, I'm not changing my signature. My motto: "Often wrong but never in doubt."

Ah yes - the newsletter. It was truly the Mad Magazine of Windsurfing. Yes 3

Is it possible to pull out past articles. It could make for a Throwback Thursday type of thing. I'll start. I'll call this Time Warp Wednesday:

I noticed this in classifieds in the issue you linked. Perhaps someone has can help me out with this (I never did get it back):

Lost at Galts Ferry 9/10/99 Casio Calculator watch. Please contact

The number no longer works, but don't tell any phone spammer that. I can be reached by Private Message, which will send an email to my phone and it will encrypt the message and text it to me.

Per the above newsletters for sale ads -

John Danovics' Island Comp 265 slalom 11lbs and jumpable $650.has now been REDUCED TO ONLY $50, includes fin. Contact Gene Mathis 404-735-4944.

I think there is a nice board bag that goes with it. (included in the $50 price.)

For real, anybody want it?

Also, I enjoyed reading the old newsletter, a lot of names I havent seen in along time.

And it was amazing they could shrink a whole calulator small enough to fit on a watch.

Re: Summer homework

I don't have that watch calculator any more, but for anybody interested, that sounds like a $600 savings on that board.* And - here's the best part. It has almost never been used since 1999 (or before 1999). So buy it and you can party like its 1999.

*I'll have to check the math with my new Casio Excel Watch, but I think 650 is 600 more than 50.

Re: Summer homework

Watch this one on some windless day. It will be just like being in Hatteras in the late 90s after having watched the Weather Channel for the fifteenth time and the forecast (Local weather on the Eights!) still says NE 5-10 for the next three days.

We'd pop in one of Harty's videos and pretend that someday we'd be something better than dreadful. Years later: we're still dreadful

Wonder if he was invited to the Royal Wedding? He was, after all, the Chief Windsurf Instructor for the Royal Yacht Association, I think.

More Harty. 10 steps. It'd be nice for a decent 15 mph day to practice this stuff.
