Starboard F136 Formula Board

This is the board I have been using for learning to foil. It comes with a 55 CM Curtis g-10 blade fin or 65 CM Curtis carbon race fin. Despite the 136 label the volume is only 108 liters. Despite that it is more stable than narrower boards with much more volume. 100 CM width makes it quite easy to sail, IF you are ~150 lb or less. If you weigh much more than that the F156 board listed by webguy is a better bet. It is early planing for conventional sailing and foil-possible but no guarantees on anything. Oh, and it is quite ugly around the edges and accordingly quite cheap. It is not exactly light either -26lb.

$149 including footstraps and 55 cm fin, $199 with 65 cm fin.

There is no off season.

BTW - I would consider some sort of trade. Maybe a sail if someone has something in the 5-7.5 range. But I'm open to suggestions.

Here's another look. Gives a bit of a closeup. This was conventional sailing - no foil. Just got launched.

Let me know if anything spins your wheels. My hacksaw is looking for a project. Maybe cut your FJr down to 80ish and try it for freestyling.
Sailworks 5.0, North 5.0, Ezzy 6.0 (Transformer and Infinity)

Less to think about. Alan just scooped up the Infinity 6.0. Biggrin

The Transformer is still around, though.

TBH - I missed the fact that the Ezzy Infinity was still in the mix anyway.

Re: Starboard F136 Formula Board

Product testimonial - I owned this board for a few years and it's a great 12-20 mph board with a 7.5. It has a pinched tail for a wide board so it jibes nicely for it's width and isn't too bouncy. You can put a bigger sail on it if you wish although maybe an 8.5 or 9 would be the limit since it's thin. Despite it's seemingly low volume, it's width makes it more stable than a 115 l freeride board. With a good 60-65 cm you can go way upwind and down. Good memories.

Re: Starboard F136 Formula Board

It's a board you can really kick (foot pump) onto a plane. In looking at my sailing log I noticed that I sailed the F136 most often with my 9.6 no cam. I have sailed it with 5 on up, but mainly with the bigger sails. Lately my biggest sail has been 7.3.

Nowadays, I just don't really have a good place to put it, and I'm trying to not go overboard like I did in the past. Yes 3

If you want the Infinity Randy I can live without it. Seems like a good sail to learn to foil with being cheap and cambered and all.

Alan, if you are in no rush (and there no wind anyway) maybe I should take a look at all these sails and try to figure out which one(s) might work out.
