If I believe and it's windy: best outcome, nirvana*
If I believe and it's not windy: kind of bad outcome, no wind but at least I'm in a pretty place
If I don't believe, don't go and it's windy: bad outcome, looking at the leaves and flags and living a day of regret
If I don't believe, don't go and it's not windy: okayish outcome, doing something but it's not windsport
Therefore, the highest expected** value is to believe and go

**yes, having taken Stat at both the undergrad and grad level, I'm aware of the flaws in this statement.
There’s usually enough parking in the prime spot if you get there on the early side. I think there’s plenty more just slightly less close to the launch.
Worth noting - that picture is not 3D......The best parking spot is the one to the rights of the closed boat ramp that is near the bottom center of the picture.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
Shooting for 7am at Vanns - need to be back home by 10-10:15.
Any real early birds?
Alejo? This is ‘Langdon early’, which is often done with sailing and back at work by the time you show up or Gene is thinking about rolling out of bed 😂
Good day yesterday but challenging at times because it could get gusty. Sailed the big stuff (8.0 and Starboard 1000 wing). After waiting 15-20 min, found a spot at Vanns and Shred Dog (Scott) showed up 2 min later and eased into a just opened spot easy-peasy.
Scott tried to wing a 7.0(? or was it 7.2, I forget) and new 88 l. board. Not sure how it worked. Dave D. came to see if it was kiteable but looked like too many holes.
It would cycle for about 5 min on and then off for 5 min more. Sailed over to LLSC and hung out with some foiling A cats (including boat mates Bailey and Jeff) and we had a good time chasing each other around a bit even though they could kill me upwind when the wind lulled up as their longing hulls make for good displacement speed. Really cool when they'd power up and slingshot downwind. I could almost keep up respectably despite dragging a huge wing through the water. The huge wing came in handy though as I could stay on foil pretty well when it got lighter but eventually I'd hit a lull and be back on the water.
We all ventured out into the main channel until inexplicably a couple of 20 mph gusts rolled through about at the top of the comfort zone for both me and the A cats. The gusts were also pretty turbulent and you could feel the wind really push the rig around - not like the more typical winter gusts.
Haizar was going out at Vanns as I was packing up. Also saw Mike sailing out of Aqualand.
Ended up guest crewing on a boat for the long distance moonlight race by which time the wind had gone very light. Pretty night but we bailed after a couple of hours when the wind pretty much had shut down and motored back. Fun day on the water.
Back at it today not quite so early. We'll see if we can get Jr. up on the foil today.
9am Vanns- I got about a dozen rides with 8m, jb likely the same from what I saw. Even lighter now than 7am. I gotta run, jb out there getting occasional rides in the channel and some bobbing around.
