Hi,
Did everybody have fun, Sat? We had quite a crowd at Vann's Tavern on Sat. running around 6.0 give or take a meter.
How about the turnout at Galts and LLSC? (Must have been a pretty wild Reggae Regatta).

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
I really wasn't intending to go - (third day in a row, 6 sessions in 9 days), but about 4:00 I found myself on I-75 headed to Gault's. No other sailors, I rigged 5.6 and had a blast. I was OP at times and it was still cranking when I left. This has been some kind of crazy June wind.
Certainly, it is unusual to have such strong winds in June. We've already had at least 2 days this month when there was enough wind for sub 6.0 sailing. And several other days when the wind was sufficient for planing with a big sail (say 7-8+).
It's interesting that we often are suprised by wind in June. However, looking at the windrose, it looks like June is actually a better month on average than either September or October, 2 months when it is more expected to find some wind. (The bad news - July & Aug are pretty weak, by far the worst of the year.) >:(
