Rebalancing My Portfolio*

*No idea what that means but I hear people say it, and it sounds cool.

SOLD

Selling a complete, very good condition/almost nearly new-ish light-wind-dream set-up. I'm reluctant to sell it because it's such a great kit, but every day that it seems like an option, I gotta do that other thing Shok

Mistral Explosion 150, only sailed by a little old psychotherapist* on Sundays in Hatteras. It's in great shape except for what looks like a hurried nose repair and a few other small dings. It's light, stiff and watertight. Includes G-10 41 cm weed fin•• (powerbox), like new footstraps and 2 bolt Chinook base plate. Board with fin – $300. ** Add $75 to sub a 51cm Curtis Racing pointer fin.

The perfect complement to the board is a like new Ezzy Lion 9.5, red, white and blue.... and magenta... and black... with some soft baby blue accents (because 'Murica celebrates diversity, right?). It's a complete rig with a like new Fiberspar 490/28 SDM Freeride (30% carbon) mast and a like new Aeron boom with adjustable-on-the-fly harness lines and uphaul. Boom adjusts 200-250 cm. Aeron booms have a "V-grip" (teardrop) tube profile that seems like a really smart idea to add stiffness in the right dimension. The grip is surprisingly comfortable. Not sure of the year on the sail, but I think the Lion is essentially unchanged for the last few years. It's a 2 camber "free race" sail that's easy to rig and has the legendary range, power and longevity of all our beloved Ezzys. Can also be rigged without cambers, iirc. Retail on a 2017 Lion is over $700. Also includes a Chinook extension and UJ. Complete rig– sail, mast, boom, extension– $400.

Buy both board and rig for $600. It's so cheap, you can't afford to NOT buy it! Shok

Seems like we all long for the days of Gene's Consignment and the liquidity he provided for the used windsurfing gear market helping us to monetize our overly long windsurfing gear positions. Well, all of us miss it except probably Gene.....In those days portfolio rebalancing was much easier. I had so much great ws gear in those days I usually drove around with at least 2 or 3 boards in my car at all times because I had no other place to put it all.

Man, this is a smokin good deal! I might even consider my personal boycott on light wind gear. Please someone buy this before I do something stupid... Scratch one-s head

Yay! That should be a great piece of gear for someone. Thanks for spreading the love. If I already didn't have two of everything you were advertising, I'd have been in.

Order has been restored to the universe. Both Foildood's and Randy's portfolios are balanced. I now have almost two of everything.

(I used to work for a firm that did a bunch of portfolio rebalancing back in the day. It kept the lights on and gas in the managing directors' BMWs stating it mildly.)

Nice likeness. If it was my actual thumb, the top 3 lines would be missing thanks to a summer job I once had......

Summer job? Is that what the kids call working for the Yakuza these days? Biggrin

(ouch, sorry about that.)

No - it was a steel mill. Now long since out of business. Made nails and chain length fence among other things. Paid great - $3/hour. Since I was injured on the job, I got a disability job sitting in a little shack turning the switch on a railroad track that was almost never used. Continued on with it when classes started. Since I didn't actually do any work I could study. It started my long career in #fakework. Unfortunately, the union went on strike and I was out of a job. I was recovered by the time the strike ended, so I didn't go back. Unfortunately the the true impact of the disability was not known for many years until texting was invented. Turns out it is hard to text without a perfectly normal thumb.
