Compared to cyclists, we are cheapskates.

Latest, greatest wheels from Enve, $3500. Does not include cassette, tires, etc. (or frame, gears, etc for that matter).

You are curious, you can drop up to another $400-500 on cassette (Campy Super Record) and a couple hundred on tires. May be more at your LBS.

In case you are wondering, I'm still riding wheels I built 30 years ago. I'm a cheapsh&t, too.

Dirt bike tires are about $75 each. You will need two rears per year and one front.
Oil changes are every two months.
fuel is $5 per ride
Gas for the car is $$8 to $20 depending on where you go..
broken parts can me any amount.
Ride park fees are $30 per visit. N. Ga riding is free.
Trailer tires are $50 - replace every two years

A new KTM 450 like mine is $10,000 new and $5000 a couple of years old.

Windsurf gear can get really old and still work but dirt bikes not so much.

Bike repairs. like a top end. would run about $1000

My cheapest hobbies are photography, no cost, Hobie Cats, no cost, new grandbaby, cost a lot, windsurfing, almost no cost, bicycles, almost no cost. ( just got my crank fixed for $35. Yes, I wore the crank out.

Let me back up here. I said no cost to Hobie Cats. That is a true statement unless you let Andrew take it out in rough surf.

His wipe out cost about $100 in new parts and battens for the Hobie. So I will change it to no cost unless you let Drew use it.
BTW if you buy Hobie parts that are Hobie brand they cost a lot because Hobie is really, really proud of its stuff.
