From Peelskid at Sea Grove Beach, FL.

Hobie Cat on Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Clear water, 10 to 15 S nice light day - great for the Hobie and a beginner sailer ( Andrew ) Pic later.
Beach Wedding of my daughter on Sat. - wedding on the beach next to the water with Hobie Cat in background for all pics and attendees to view
Sun. rain, lots of rain, 35 mph winds from S, seas very rough - no sailing
Monday same as Sunday
Tuesday front comes through, west winds 15 to 25 resonable rough seas - again Andrew is a beginner on the Hobie in the ocean. I taught him how to get out in rough surf. He loved it until he flipped the boat on the 3rd sand bar. He got bashed by the waves and blown down the beach ( good thing it was not an off shore wind ) ( he was wearing a life jacket at all times due to roughness ) I walked down to him, swam out and helped bring the Hobie in. Damage to sail, lost 3 battens, and a couple of other mishaps to fix.
Wed is back to 10 to 15 but first we have to go to the sailboat shop for a parts fix.
Rest of the week looks mild 10 to 15 S calm seas.

What a blast yesterday was when he flipped the boat. I have pics and will post soon. Better yet I will probably have a youtube first.

More to come.

PS. Thanks to David Delozier for checking my dock. 8" of rain????

Best wishes on the nuptials. I'm sure you are proud of your kids.

Nice of your daughter to accommodate dad by having the wedding near water... you've trained her well.

What dock?!?!?

Perhaps the one floating in my cove with a windsurfer on it? I wondered where that darn thing came from.

Peel - the water looks to be up about a foot since last weekend. Shouldn't be a big deal unless your dock is real sensitive to water levels. Bunch of crap in the water though that got flushed out with the rain.

I assume water is up 3 feet from 7 days ago. I talked to David and he did a fix for me. Thanks, Dave.

Flat Creek treatment plant had an overflow and spilled into flat creek so, beware.

I imagine there is all kinds of trash in the lake just like after a big storm in the winter. If you sail watch out and don't break a fin.

I am so glad that David D was the one who took a look at the dock. If you are not familiar with docks then you are at a disadvantage when figuring out a problem.

Somehow David used my kayak to get out to the dock and then was able to get out of the kayak and pull himself up on the dock. I am not so sure I could have done that. Anyway, David, not only checked the dock but he moved it into a proper position on shore. He also mentioned, that I will have to take a looks at my neighboring docks, so they must be a mess.

Down here in Fl. we had beautiful weather up to the day after the wedding then got hit by rough seas and 35 mph winds. Monday was a bad day too. Tuesday was the day Andrew tested his Hobie wave sailing skills. He had a lot of instruction from me ( I have been out in that kind of stuff lots of time ) but he has never actually tried to right the boat. Before he went out we did a youtube tour about righting Hobies but it did not give use any good info. Now we have our own youtube but it shows how to sail in surf but not right the boat.

The rest of the week has been very light but we use the boards to surf on.

I hope you guys in Hatteras get some wind.
