Panama City Windsurfing?

Elizabeth and I may in Panama City on Friday (where they happen to be forecasting 25-30kts!). I was wondering where you can sail in a North or Northwest wind?

I would check the places to sail page, but it does not seem to be working...

nw I think back in the day people would sail from the bridge, it's actually the least accessible direction. there is/was a great place in Pensacola on the n. side of the island facing the bay/sound. I sailed a nw there this time of year and it was fantastic.

sorry 'bout the error. some .htaccess funkiness colliding with php- should be gone now. it only affected links that had anchors within a page.

An excellent sailing spot is Nat'l Seashors park on Okaloosa Island. From the west boundry of PC go West on 98 thru San Destin and Destin and across the bridge to Okaloosa Is. ( about a 35 minute drive ). NW wind will cause the wind to be at 2 o:clock in relation to the launch site ( on shore wind ). Shallow water and I am sure the water is still warm. I have sailed this spot many times and I think it one of the best in the Fla. panhandle. Yes even better than Cape San Blas St. Park and just as good as Fred Howard.

Yep David, I agree that Cape San Blas and Destin are great -- I have sailed those areas extensively over the last 10 years. We just don't have time to drive the extra hour and 1/2. We are only going to be in Panama City one day...

I have not sailed at Panama city, but I beleive there is a shop there called Hydrotherapy or something like that. They have a web page. I'd check with them.
