We're in the Nags Head for two weeks. Yesterday morning was warm with wind in the mid 20's, great conditions for sailing with my daughter - first photo.
The the wind ramped up so we all rigged down to our smallest sails and ultimately got blown off the water at it gusted over 50 mph - second photo of Alain.
The third photo is our view out the window as we sat down for dinner.

Up here in Hatteras too. Sunday was just nuts. Barrett is correct in describing it as getting blown off the water. 3.7 and a 67L board were still too much. I never felt such pain from the sand blasting while just standing in the parking lot!
A few observations. The Canadians are back with a vengeance. Every single parking spot was taken at the Canadian Hole - about 80% had Canadian plates. I selfishly kind of miss the Covid years where you could just roll up anytime of day and get a spot. Also, wing surfers are out in force. There are at least as many wingers as there are windsurfers. Just last year I would guess it was more like 5-1 windsurfers.
Looks like the entire southeast is getting wind. Heck, I was really looking forward to working on my foil jibes, but it look like the foil will stay in the truck this week. Definitely a good time to be a wind ‘sporter’
