Onboard for a full IQFoil race

POV for a full up/downwind IQFoil race. Interesting to note the tacks, jibes, adjusting the harness, other sailor's positions, choice to have back foot out on the downwind, etc. He had a nice second upwind leg and gained a lot of places.

He doesn't seem to mind hitting the wavetops from time to time. I suppose keeping low helps getting upwind.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.

High is faster but then you run the risk of too high which is really slow. Lol

Going upwind (he said in the comments it was blowing about 20 kts), he's going to be having the board canted over towards windward so that will reduce how much space he has plus there was probably some swell. You can see it in the first 10-15 seconds of the video in the guys just upwind of him. Going downwind, he definitely seemed to favor control as his back foot wasn't on the rail and that's where I heard him touch pretty frequently. Going over swell downwind, you get lifted over the tops so staying low probably was the prudent thing to do in those conditions.

An occasional skip doesn't slow you too much but going into full planing mode, of course, does.
