The second video is awesome - full screen it at 1080p. That race will be long remembered. Watching people blow up and the spray coming off says a lot about the conditions.
I was there for the Fall event (don't know if it is related or not.) I thought it was going be several days of racing. Instead they just looked at the forecast on the first day at the skippers meeting and said something like "Ok Tuesday looks like our light wind day, Thursday looks like our high wind day...."* As it turned there was no event on the windiest day of the week (Wed - too windy I think?). Only kiters were out that day until the wind dropped. Kind of disappointing (then again, I just wanted to watch the carnage from shore.)
* Going from memory, here so the details may be off.

Sailing 12 miles in those conditions has to be rough. Big Al and his crew are there this week.
