Happy New Year,
The latest local forecast looked like the heavy rain wasn't going to start until about lunchtime. I am feeling itchy to start the New Year with some foiling, so I am going to take a chance and head to Vanns for 8:30-9:00am. Obviously no guarantees, but I am dying to get on the water and at the very least I will be ready to strike if there's a chance. Maybe I will see you over there!!!! Here's to logging some foiling miles on day 1 of 2021!!!
Happy New Year

1/1/21, 8am Vans live: barely noticeable drizzle, steady wind-plenty for foiling anyways-, flat water, mild temp, empty parking lot.
And empty roads on the drive - being too old and boring to stay up for the ball —or peach- drop had its benefits it seems.
I am
Here and there’s wind
Report from bed: Comforter warm. Sound of rain on the roof. Rolling over to catch 5 minutes more of Zees.
Happy New Year, you mangy varmints!

Post report:
The wind looked pretty good as I pulled in the lot at Vanns around 8:45am. One other Windfoil was just heading into water when I pulled up. Pretty much stayed up on foil for 95% of the session. Lots of light periods but steady enough to keep flying. Very relaxing!! Little over an hour into it a band of heavy showers moved in and killed the wind. I limped back in and had to break down equipment in torrential rain. 8 miles on foil to start the new year! Reggie was pulling into the lot as I was leaving. Not sure if wind cooperated for him.
