Hey everyone, I'm sure by now you have heard the big news. Altanta is going to get an expansion WNBA team. (In case you aren't a sports fan, thats Women's National Basketball Association.) So I think the ABC ought to have a contest to name the team. We need to come up with something the city and/or state are really known for. Here's a few ideas. I'd appreciate anymore that you might come up with:

The Atlanta Thirst

The Georgia Draught

Say, we've got lots or bars with celebrity's in Buckhead. How about the "Buckhead Stars n Bars" (oopps might not work - could remind everyone of a former flag of ours.)

Then there's the "Atlanta Baby Panda's" (Well doesn't sound too fierce. Plus, I think the Falcons, Hawks and Thrashers are fighting over that one.)

The Georgia Chickens (we're a big poultry producer and a nice counter to the Atlanta Braves).

Then again, we could name if for some of our famous local politicians and other sports stars - The Atlanta Inmates. (Plus - we've got a dandy maximum security federal pen somewhere.)

The Atlanta Hawks (This is the most logical one. They play NBA in the winter, WNBA in the summer. Just shave their legs and let their hair grow out.)

The Atlanta Jam (traffic that is. Team logo would be a rendition of the 285 parking lot.)

Maybe we can get them to play games in Gwinnet Arena and name them the North Georgia Dry Lakers.

Or maybe name it for the airport - The Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Snarl, presented by Delta.

How about the Atlanta Mosquitos or the Georgia Kudzu?

Then perhaps we could honor our air quality - The Atlanta Code Red (I like that one. Someone makes a windsurfing sail with that name.)

Or let's celebrate the glory of nature - The Atlana Pollen. (Its perfect - the WNBA season starts in late spring).

Well, I could probably go on and on - but time for work. Someone help me - please.
