Monthly Meets

I haven't been to the monthly get togethers for a couple of years now due to (over)work loads. Is anyone still doing these, and if so, when and where are they nowadays ? I hear the Brandy House shut down.

Yes the Brandy House is histoire. (But they's a very good Ace Hardware there now). We moved to Frankie's at the Prado in Sandy Sprangs, but the lack of parking during construction there makes it impossible now. We met at the Downwind Restaurant @ PDK airport last month and it was ok. Maybe we should ramble some & find a new cool place to convene. Ideas?

How about a place off the Windy Hill exit on 75? ...easy to get to. This past year was hard to get to mtgs since I was still working by meeting time...

Know that feeling all too well unfortunately. It was always that one night on the month I needed to work out of town.

There's a lot of bars around the Pleasant Hill exit on 85 as I remember. Is this too far north for most folks ?

ok...hows about Bahama breeze at 3590 BRECKENRIDGE BLVD, Duluth. Halfway between downtown Atlanta and Lanier. Not a bad restaurant and plenty of outside seating.

Thoughts ?

Bahama Breeze... Wind Surfing... That sounds right. I vote for that (even though I can't be there).

I just talked to Carol, she suggested Rocktail Cove (change the R in Rocktail to a C, the software wont let me post Cocktail,) a new place just opened where the old American Pie was, on Roswell Road, just outside of 285 (on the left.)

While out I-75 North and out I-85 North (better for me) may work, the idea of someplace off of 285 was to be more centrally located. Of course, traffic can suck on 285 as well as 75 and 85.

More input/suggestions?

Everyone,

The meeting is supposed to be tonight 5/14, my mistake on the date.

BUT, I've spoken to alot of the regulars who normally attend and cant find anyone who is planning on attending due to conflicts, out of town, etc. We may want to cancel it for this month? People who are (were) definitely planning on attending, please post here or give me a call so we can get a better idea of attendance.

What was Summits Wayside Tavern on Roswell Road just north of 285 is now Charlie Mopps Public House (http://www.charliemoppspub.com). That would be a good place, especially if we could reserve the front room, unless folks want to be on the deck.

May your water be smooth and your winds be swift.

Anyone going tonight fee free to drop me a line - 404.433.1190. I'll be there around 7:30 to sample the cream ale even if no-one else shows..

Well, the Cream Ale sold out pretty fast (before I got there), but the beer selections were overwhelming. They have regular quiz nights, including last night, that I think even a bunch of windsurfers could win prizes on.

I'd recommend Charlie Mopps for next months meet if we need somewhere fairly central.
