Midwest Surf Report

Just checking in from Indianapolis, home of the 500...

Finally, I got out onto the water this past week.  My wife had been bugging me for weeks to get on the water, I guess too much talk of surfing or windsurfing (magazines and 54321 or Fox Sports Net).  I'd been too busy and the weather hadn't cooperated when I was able to go.

Tuesday was an after work light wind session at the lake near our house.  I was able to launch from a friend's house and spend time in a cove practicing helicopter tacks, sail 360's and other light wind tricks.

Saturday afternoon was another session at Eagle Creek, which is home to Indy's windsurfer crowd.  We got to the lake later than we planned, but there were 5 or 6 people on the water when we arrived.  Almost everyone was on 9.0 or so sails, but I still have most my quiver in storage, so 5.8 was the call on the HiFly longboard.  I had a blast for 2.5 hours, at times I would have been planing with a shortboard and my 7.0.  My wife lazed on the beach while I sailed.  Great session!!!

Hope everyone in Atlanta is doing fine.  Keep up the stoke!
