Little Windfest at Lake Thurmond

Little Windfest at the Lake -- Lake Thurmond (near Augusta)-- Saturday, May 4th
 You're invited!  Come on down to Lake Thurmond (aka, Clark Hill Lake) and hang out for a day. There may or may not be any wind -- we all know how that is -- but, there will be a fest.
 The newest windsurfing club in the region, the Augusta-Columbia Windsurfing Association (ACWA), is red-lining on the old stoke-O-meter, so we're putting together a little wind soiree' over here on the Georgia-lina border. It'll be an easy drive from Atlanta, Charlotte, or Greenville -- not more than two hours.  Mosey over by late morning and stay for the day. We're  gonna try to make it worth your while -- wind or no wind. Only a heavy rain forecast will precipitate a cancelation (ha!). It will also be a great time to bring that spouse, friend, mother-in-law, or young'un to get 'em hooked.   Here's what we have planned:
 * races (w/ prizes) if wind is >7
 * fun and funky freestyle competetion (w/ prizes)
 * swap meet
 * Equipment demo:Mistral "Prodigy" and Formula; HOT Sails; F2 "Discovery"; Starboard "GO"
 * Taste-of-Windsurfing (for never-evers)
 * Dueling Weather Man Double-dare Challange.
Gathering time will begin at 10:00am and first race at 11:30. Festivities will end when we get tired.
ACWA will provide beverages; bring your own lunch.
Please, please, please RSVP, register, or whatever you want to call it by replying to this e-mail.  We need to know you're coming to satisfy the COE permit requirements. (Also, we have two locations set aside, depending on wind direction, and an e-mail or notification will be sent out the Friday night before of which side of lake we'll be on. I'll e-mail a file of a detailed map toall those who RSVP 4 or 5 days beforehand. It'll get you from I-20 to the lake and to whichever site we use.)
