The last day of summer -22nd

91 and sunny. Biggrin

If things hold, it'll be a classic Van Pugh afternoon.

Planning on a 10:45am arrival at VP. Need to take off around 3:30pm, so trying to get on the water a little early.

That was fun! It was very windy (some gusts close to 30) and 90. A bunch of windsurfers/foilers and wingers at VP. Maybe 15 or more? Too tired to count but it was a bunch spread over the day. A bunch more wingers and kites at Old Fed.

Re: The last day of summer -22nd

Good day for me as well…though would have been better if I wasn’t stubborn & lazy about rigging down a couple sizes. Trying to hang onto an 8.0 for 2 hrs straight with plenty of sinus flushes was a little too much for my tired and old body. It didn’t help that I am still trying to recover from the long trip back from Turkey last Sun and hand been working and exercising everyday this week.

I would say ‘live and learn’ but evidence suggests that ain’t happening for me - all I can hope is it helps others learn to not do what I do (not that anyone seems to need that advice as much as I do). ?

Ps: case in point - 6:15am the next morning and I am heading to rowing with my bike, despite my body seems to be saying ‘what the heck man?’

Wouldn’t oars be more efficient? ?

I had fun, hope to have more next week.

Re: The last day of summer -22nd

Thank you, Chris!

Great to see everyone going for it! I owe Sam, he watched, but should have been on the water too but, it was a little nuts for a light weight kiter.

I knew I had the look of "don't eat it, don't eat it, don't eat it".
And I gotta lose my Summer fat before the Winter weight arrives - haha.

Very fun time, windy! Fun gear - thanks Neil! And playing with tail foil shimming too. A few jibes completed, funny how much of a learning curve it is "just" to be able to turn these foils...

More soon please - all smiles for me.

That’s a pretty pathetic demonstration of my command of the English language, isn’t it? 2 weeks in Turkey and it’s as if I am just learning the language rather than having been in US for 34 years. What can I say, just another indication of being a slow learner in any area - whether it’s learning to pick the right sail (or when to switch) or a language. Oh well, at least I have ‘ignorance is bliss’ going for me ?

Coming from someone that speaks only one language somewhat fluently, That’s not at all what I was inferring.

Hey Alan, to clarify, I didn’t think you were and I certainly wasn’t offended or anything like that. My comments were purely based on my own self-assessment of that very poorly constructed sentence (if you can call it that) once I read it in your note. All good
