Attached some pics only to show the era(?)

It is just possible that the Mistral (sometimes called Euro) pin mast foot will work. It looks a lot like that. Old Klepper stuff may be hard to come by. You might check with these guys. They do seem to have an assortment of hard to find parts and know a lot about this stuff.

Edit: Randy is faster than I am. One reason he's so popular in Australia

Welcome! That looks like a standard Mistral foot. Maybe one of us can meet you at the lake one day and see if our Mistral pins work.

If you aren't close by, you can try ordering one online. They aren't expensive if it's not the right part. Choices:

Unless you need the track to slide, some folks retrofit a piece of metal and just use a regular modern single bolt mast base. Or, buy this:
https://shop.wind-nc.com/collections/windsurfing-universal-joints/products/slider-for-mistral-track-windsurf-mast-base-nut-old-long-board-new-uj
(Unless you have an M8 tap, probably the easiest thing to do) The advantage of this is that you can use modern mast extensions so you can apply the appropriate amount of downhaul for a modern sail. Not sure about the Klepper extension but a lot of old extensions simply can't take the amount of tension a modern sail needs.

Klepper has been out of business 25+ years so not much sitting on the shelf in inventory. Biggrin

I'm confused. The quarter looks American not German.

Oooooh, the other thing. Nevermind.

I have a M8 tap

If necessary I can make / remake the components.
I agree with Webguy...make it so that a modern extension will work

I completely agree about retroing a universal in the track(new track) AND still keep the track distance and similar settings. I'm still feeling out the local shapers (surfer since youth, gave it a whirl on the wind early last fall and boom a suburban full of gear later). Anyways, I appreciate all the replies and direction. If you come south to Titusville or maybe some of my River spots... I don't know about crabby since 1998,, that's when I graduated high school.?. I'm shitty about keeping up with forums but I'll try.

stoked

Been hooked since October ?. I actually moved to a xantos (140L) this spring (Feb). I just really really really want to get the pink-o commie up and sailing again. I have a guy, that knows a guy in Tampa, that has done the exact same conversion but we've all been through a similar situation with varying results.

As entertaining as the video is, the idea of the title "anyone can do windsurfing", followed by 11 minutes of moves that only a few handfuls (of mostly full time professionals) could ever dream of doing, never mind have the conditions for, seems strange to me. The title suggested to me that it be about normal people doing normal windsurfing.

It's a Youtube channel. The Youtuber, LanAnh Phan, periodically posts videos compiled from various sources - a lot of them industry promos - under the title "Best of Windsurfing No. X"

Re: Klepper mast foot

If you watch the windsurfing videos closely for a while you will realize anyone can do windsurfing. Windsurfing, it seems, is mainly about loading your car with windsurf stuff, driving in your car for a while, unloading windsurf stuff, talking to your friends, rigging your windsurf stuff....doing some stuff with your windsurf stuff on the water, then packing it up, drinking beer with friends and driving home. Really, almost anyone can do almost all of that stuff except for the little part on the water. And many times, there is no need to do the water stuff because there is not enough wind and there would be no point. And even if there is enough, you can say there's not really enough to bother with. Same for kitesurfing. Or most windsports.
