September 10-12 is Juana's Goodtime Regatta at Navarre beach, FL. It's near Pensacola. This place is really fun. It's a regatta if you like, but the parties, freebies and discounts make it worth entering even if you don't race.
If you do want to race, there's a wide range of "seriousness", from first timers to fully geared up Formula persons. Conditions have varied when I've gone before, but it's mostly been light or marginal 7.5 planing. My plan is to try and go if it looks windy for at least one day. Nice flat water on the sound. Gulf is walking distance. Beautiful panhandle white sand beach. See wwwJuanaspagodas.com (I think that's right). There's a special room rate for the regatta but I saw that you can beat that deal by reserving on line. I'll add that link later.
Let's go...

Will definitely see ya at Juana's... I'm sure it'll be a Good Time Regatta.
Oh... and the Endless Summer Regatta in early Oct. at Shell Point (S. of Tallahassee) is worth the 500 mile drive from Jackson (for me). Chris-I got a beer with your name on it.
I'm not sure I would drink that beer if I were you.
Endless Simmer is a good'un too. Hope to see you there!
