Just what the title says - post some music that makes you happy, you think others might enjoy or you just feel like people should know about. We'll make it a Friday thing so if nothing pops into your head, plan for next week.
I'll start off with two new songs with a throwback feel
Funkish R&B vibe
New wave/punk a lot like the Hives

Thundercat was awesome.
Glad you liked it. Good posts this week. Looking forward to next Friday.
A great summer fun song with a nice guitar solo at the end
This new song feels like a good summer song, too. A little bit of 70s soul vibe in modern clothes.
I once knew some people that smoked a LOT of pot. They were living in a dorm in Athens so the most practical (and fun) way to get stoned was to drive around the countryside in one of their cars, a red Corvair. Notorious for being “unsafe at any speed” that car was rendered much more so by its occupants’ states of mind. The soundtrack for these outings was key. “Cruise 1” set the bar high... Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Cat Stevens, Little Richard, Aretha etc. It was 1972, a good year for music. Cruise 1 was a masterpiece of pacing and genius transitions- mellow, then upbeat, then faster, building to climactic ending. It was fantastic!
Eight track tape cassettes were not the most reliable bit of technology. Eventually Cruise 1 could no longer be played. A long list of sequels followed- Son of Cruise 1, Cruise 2, UltraCruise ‘73 etc. But one song made it onto every version. It still sounds great to me today.
'vair or 'vette? Ralph wrote about the 'vair. Brother owned both. He can confirm that the 'vair had a mean streak that put him into a neighbor's yard going 35mph. Of course, the 'vette could get you into trouble in a dozen ways, too.
For this you are obligated to post next week a certain Prince song on the topic of small red Chevys .
