Interesting Board Design

Hey,

I found the following Mistral board for sale on E-Bay.

It looks like it's got a removable tail that allows you to convert it from a longboard to a short board. Is this right. Does anybody know if they were they any good? Might be a good match for a Multi Sail.

I think it was Charles Adkins (the originator of the Wind Altar) that had a Challenge Flex. He liked it a lot. It seems like it was sort of a floaty slalom board in the "long" mode and a not-so-floaty slalom board in the "short" mode. He's kind of a big guy and I think he took the tail off when it got down to 4.5 or so. I wonder if it could have some collector value... (maybe $290 if they threw in a couple of useless sails, out of date masts and other junk)??

Funky board

The back part does not come off. This board is a " Challenge Flex". The idea was to create a sort of dynamicly(?) variable rocker line. Go figure.

funkey board

Guess I didn't remember that quite right, as it sounds like you have the truer scoop , so to speak, on this board. I do remember seeing one floating around some years back.
