At the moment, the forecast looks decent and warm. While I'm sure that a lot of boats will be out, should still be fun to all meet up and at least enjoy the bitchin' and moanin' if it doesn't blow. Also before a number of the regulars go off to Hatteras, etc.
Maybe get together at VP, Sunrise ? (Of course, kites welcome, too)

I checked availability of the picnic shelter at Van Pugh Park. It's available this Friday, April 1 and there's wind forecast. If enough windsurfers can arrive in late afternoon or early evening, this could work for a party.
The shelter is already booked on Saturday and Sunday.

Wind forecast for April 1. Good try, Barrett, good try.

This has potential. The sticking point is that there is a fee to rent the shelter so we need a show of hands of those who may be interested so we don't rent the shelter for 5 of us to look at each other.
If you can make the afternoon, early evening at VP on Friday, post below. If you have any other thoughs, post as well.
Friday or Saturday sounds good to me. Friday might cut back on the number of people who can come, (work and Friday rush hour traffic.) I can bring the two Inflatable Chinook SUPs and the Pacifico SUP/Windsurfer (for sale) for people to try SUPing if it's not windy,

Would LLSC work? It's free, there's a gas grill and adult libations are permitted
Either day is okay there. Also, we can stay as late as we want.

I don't wish to impose - I feel bad enough using your yards o' carbon yesterday*. Certainly cheaper than renting a pavillion at VP. The libation part certainly speaks to me.
*cv got tired of all my unsolicited advice and sent me out on the "Foil of Doom".
What say the rest of you?
I'd take Friday off for this.
LLSC sounds super and Saturday looks a little better windwise, not to mention more folks could participate.
Saturday at LLSC sounds good to me!
Mike Prazak
Saturday is even better.
so... sounds like Saturday generally works pretty well plus the forecast looks worthwhile.
If Chris V is still up for hosting this rabble, let's call it a plan.
Okey dokey.
I asked the Grand Poobah at the club if we could slum over at the beach. He said, "I thought YOU were in charge of that".
So roger that!
The gate may open automatically when you pull all the way up to it... if not, 1996 will open it.
I will bring paper products and condiments etc, otherwise can we say BYO Everything? ... meaning libations, something to grill and/or a side to share. There are a few chairs there, but it wouldn't hurt to bring one if your tush is particular.
LLSC is at 6206 Commodore Dr. 30542

beach is to the right when you pool up close to the club house.
We might want to get the word out to some who don't frequent this web page that often. If you can think of anyone let them know.
What time are we talking?

Thanks Chris for making the LLSC club site available. I'll invite my wife to come along.

Forecast looks encouraging
How is the launch from LLSC?
I've been to the club few times, but never to windsurf, will it work on tomorrow's direction. If its windy enough I may be tempted to go out.
Marek
NW is side shore. Usually a couple of mph less than VP on a west but NW may be close to VP wind speeds. Nice sandy beach and looks like wind enough to spare tomorrow. There's a touch of a shadow from the campground but certainly no worse than trying to get out of VP's hole on a west or (worse) southwest. Barrett was in a shorty the other day but the air temps may not allow it tomorrow.
Short answer: imho, you should come.
Van Pugh is better in NW. A couple of degrees south of west is great at LLSC. Gaps in the trees at Old Fed campground make NW gusty right at the beach but like William said, about like getting out on a WSW at VP. Fewer motor boats at LLSC is a bonus on a busy weekend. There is a big sailing regatta this w/e, the Dogwood. I'm sure the forecast will draw a lot of them out to sail.
Radny, not sure on "what time". I'm going to sail from the club, so I will be there noonish. Come anytime you want. I'm planning to stay until dark or after. Fire pit, aprés-shred grub & libations.
Probably across the road at Old Fed, maybe I can work my way up there!
