Heads Up - 8/3& 8/4

For those who can enjoy moderate winds, note that today's NGM MOS calls for 11 and 10 (mph?) at 2 and 5 today, East; and for 13 East tommorow at 11 am.  Who knows?  Watch the skies. Blum 3

Hey Chris,

Your right.  I believe I'll mosey on up to Galt's this afternoon.  Maybe I'll see ya there.

I went to Two Mile on Lake Lanier today (Sat).  For those that haven't been there, it is listed on the ABC web page, and as advertised, a very nice spot for summer sailing.  It is somewhat away from the speedboat crowd, and is reasonable for both e and w winds, though probably best for sw and ne.  Today was e at 5-10 mph.  In the stronger puffs I could get planing on my 94 cm wideboard with an 8.5.  The rest of the time, railing my longboard up on the centerboard was a better ride.

Nice day, and nice sailing, hard to beleive its August.  Anyway, next time it looks like there might be some wind, check out Two Mile.  It's a spot that is worth visiting.  For an sw, it is the closest place on the 400 side of the lake, no need to go all the way to Sunrise.  For an e, probably Tidwell is better, though would certainly be a lot more crowded in the summer.

Gault's Report - Birthday Bill, Phillip & I sailed 8.5, 9.8 & 7.0. Fun afternoon - lots of boat traffic, planing in the gusts - a good day for August.
