Wow, this wasn't even a named system a couple of days ago (it had weakened below the threshold). Now a Cat 3 with estimates of 20-25 inches of rain on the Texas coast. With the impact on the refineries like a mini-Katrina.

Interesting site: https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis/models/ hit the play button and you'll see the problem - Harvey doesn't really want to go anywhere

Yikes! Ramped up in a hurry, alright. That's a lot of rain.
Let's hope Worldwinds Windsurfing, in Corpus Christi, survives the storm surge. The rental shop is in the wildlife refuge on Laguna Madre about 3 feet above sea level. I have wonderful memories of sailing there with my son & other family members. Don Jackson is the shop owner - a super nice guy. I'll be wishing the best for him.

Looking for Harvey? Might try youtube.

The NWS forecast calls for wind mid-day today and Monday. I plan on sailing and prefer Van Pugh with NE wind, but can drive to Vann's. Anyone else going?

Harvey isn't over which is tragic. This is just the first act of a long drama.
Just remember guys - if we don't sail in Harvey's winds, Harvey wins.

Randy, I think your account was hacked. Someone logged in and posted this under your name on the weekend thread
Spent the morning not letting Potential Tropical Cyclone Ten win. But that's another thread. Back to Harvey, I get the feeling that our politicians and Wall Street are severely underestimating the impact of nation's 4th largest metropolitan area going offline.
