Yes. Kiter Ried from Atlanta had told me about kiting through that canal, which is just south of the house we stay in and just south of the salvo day use area. I have paddled through it and decided I was definitely not ready to kite through it.

10 weeks from now, I'll be back for a couple of weeks. Canal, maybe, not.

Great video with multiple cameras & professional drone photography. Some of the local kiters have become amazingly good. The latest gear improvement I saw on our Fall OBX trip was rigid boots that lock a kiter's feet to the board - allowing extreme maneuvers and jumps. Amazing stuff if you're willing to take the risk!

I think that is like a good skateboarding video - you don't see the outtakes. I imagine getting dragged through the reeds when your jump is a bit short might be unsettling.

Yeah, I saw the house which confirmed where I thought that was.
