Hey,
For those not attending the Aruba and Charleston trips, both weather.com and the 48-hr/10-day meteograms are forecasting an East wind Saturday morning anywhere from 10-20. If this holds true, it may be a quintessential Galt's day.

Just for clarification, Charleston, for me will be the weekend of the 15th. Gene has expressed interest & maybe some others. Come on down.
This does look like the most encouraging forecast we've seen in a while, though some of the models are not that optimistic. Easterlies are often morning affairs, though some of the models show this one peaking about 2.
I plan to head out early, but not sure where. I guess I'm wondering where will there be the least boats and other obsticles - Galts, Tidwell or Vann's Tavern or elsewhere? I generally like Galts the best, but mostly becuase its my own private lake about 8 months of the year. I guess if I get there early enough, there will be less of them to deal with, no matter where I go.

Randy,
I plan to be a Galt's in the AM. I'm thinking around 8:00, but being a weekend it may actually turn out more like 10:00.
Just for reference, the parking filled up last Sunday at 1:00 PM and stayed that way till after 5:00. You can still get in, you just have to wait in line until enough people leave. The earlier you get there the better.

If I can get my van started Sat morning, I will head out to Galt's too. There's no way the Prodigy will fit inside my Camry...

Anybody going to Vann's Tavern? I'm gonna try to get there tween 8 and 9. And I'm gonna try to get into those reaching straps on the Equippe.
Dave DeL,
re: VT, Maybe a little later in the morning-
Bring a big sail to get in those back puppies.

Hi everyone,
A Big Day At Galts Ferry!
My dog woke me up at 6am. I think she was trying to tell me how windy it was. Anyway, made it to Galts before 8am (certainly a record for me) and it was pretty windy. Good thing I didn't just pack my 8.5 as I planned the night before. We had a really good crowd at Galts, including 3 other "early risers." (Eddie B, Linda and Bill). No one sailed anything bigger than 6.5 before noon, and it was 5.0 to 6.5 territory. I was one my 6.0 since it was the smallest thing I had. We all just kept waiting for the wind to drop off, but it just didn't quit ;D!
So how was it at Lanier? Looked pretty strong from the reports I was hearing.
