Friday - SSW

The forecast looks somewhat weird - 9-25? If it blows, will probably be anything but easy/comfortable. If forecast remains SSW I think I'll go to Vann's Tavern. Should be be no problem getting out to the channel and returning, I think. Every other launch, maybe save Tidwell, looks terrible.

Does that mean it is going to be a hard day to sail? Just what I wanted a difficult sailing condition.

I need a video on how to get on the board to begin the uphaul process! After all these years my problem is uphauling.

Want to go to LLSC?
SSW is good there. SW is really good there.
I'm thinking, some après-shred/foil libations, grillin' & chillin'.
Pretty long fetch on a SW wind:

I think it's going to be one of those PITA days where you don't want to sail but you have to because it's windy and warm. The chop will be stupid. One moment you'll be getting killed by a 25+ gust and the next you'll standing there praying for enough wind to balance on the board.

CV LLSC sounds interesting for the winged crowd. Reminds me of the day Roger and Dave D joined in. Rhett rang me today about where to go, too.

Re: Friday - SSW

I know that I am new to the group and that I still have a lot to learn...But I think we are safer when we sail as a group. We are more visible to that grey haired woman that keeps trying to run over me with her pontoon boat and we can look out for one another.
I am not saying that we need to be sailing in a group like a herd of wildebeest. But that we can at least see most of the people sailing.

As a beginner it is great to have the advice of more seasoned sailors, especially on strong wind days.
The more people that I watch or follow on their reaches the more I learn.

I lack the knowledge and experience to choose the best launch for a given wind condition. So I bow to the wisdom of the more seasoned members.

So if I need a to drive a little longer to sail with tbe group I am more than happy to do so.

LLSC looks perfect.
I'll try to escape from work earlier tomorrow.
How do we get in?
Ed.

Thanks for the invite! The Sailing Club sounds good. I hope the rain slacks enough to sail in the afternoon.

Vanns works on a S, but not great with a SW. I think LLSC is a good call, thanks Chris!

Gate code is 0676. I'll be there after lunch, but no need to wait on me.
I'm going to pick up some burgers & fixins to grill later. Enough for all, but BYOBottle
Might want to also bring a chair

Re: Friday - SSW

Hi guys, long time no see!! Smile What time we are planning to be there? Chris, can I invite myself to join you guys? What can I bring with me, besides gear? Am I be ok with 6.0 today? Scratch one-s head I don't have 5.0 or 5.2 yet. Finishing work around 1:30 and drive time is probably 1 hour.

Bruno. Please come. From what I can tell, 6.0 should be small enough. If you stay in the bay in front of the sailing club, the wind will be slightly less than the main channel. Maybe bring some chips and your favorite beverage?

Pretty easy.… Go straight when you come in the club until you see a directional sign that says "beach /camping". A chair might be handy also.
