Friday Brunch 8/25

Hoping to sail Friday around 10am at either Van Pugh or Vanns Tavern.
Which is better on a NE?

I vote Vann's. The wind shadow is at the beach, not the middle. It can be tough to get to in the morning from
Atlanta, though, so a lot of folks, for that reason, go to VP. CP is a Vann's fan.

We'll see what the consensus is.

Langdon, Jim C. and I showed up at Vann's . Blew pretty hard around 10:30-11, maybe 12-18, and then 8-15 for a couple more hours. Sailed the 6.0 on the wing. Pic coming in a bit.

Edit: As promised - a 6.0 day on a foil.

I sailed alone at Van Pugh. Solid whitecaps appeared shortly after I arrived at 10:30AM, but didn't get on the water until 11. The wind was good enough to plane 80% of the time with my 8.5m sail and 122 Liter board. After an hour of sailing, the wind quit and I came in just as Scott arrived in time to chat about East wind dying in the afternoon.

B., glad you made it on the water. It was a lot windier on the other side of the lake... Mosking

I was looking for you when I first went out. It was pretty fresh then. Saw something flashing in the distance way over by Aqualand and thought, " Barrett is sailing upwind to say hello!" It kept moving around like someone tacking. Got closer only to realize it was white channel marker moving in the swell, reflecting the morning sun. A true Mr. Magoo move.
