I hope to go early Saturday morning before dome effect and the recreational boaters kick in
Me too, shooting for 8ish @ VP Saturday
Might try Old Fed Friday if it isn’t raining too hard and hoping the cooler temps won’t create too much of a dome.
Water has warmed up measurably. Dome wasn't bad the other day when Hamdi and I were out and temps were in the mid 80s.
Tomorrow is going to be like playing in traffic, though, dodging the rain. Hope no one gets caught out - it's never fun. I still may be stupid and try it.
At Van Pugh parking may be problematic- you may have to park on the back side if there are no open spaces by the water. Expect lots of boat traffic - big cruisers and jet skis - and chop.
Better chance at Old Fed but parking may be tight. Not as much boat traffic but still some. Avoid the slot going back to Sunrise Marina as there will be a number of boats coming in and out.
Edit: Saturday is starting to look really good and highs in the low 70s. This may keep some people and boats away. Traffic on the water on previous weekends seemed to be less because of the relative chilly water and high gas prices. Maybe that trend will continue. Hoping for Paul and others.
Glad I’m not in Salvo this week, Last time we were there we only had one day like that and it pushed all the water away. Good wind, no water.
Hoping it won’t affect Barrett’s trip too much in Nags head.
Those days often aren't that much fun for most rec windsurfers. I was in Avon one time and got a day of this. One kite and I were about the only ones out. Didn't make a single outside jibe all day. A lot of work.
Yeah, at Salvo, we'd be walking a quarter mile just to get deep enough. No thanks.

Friday’s a maybe for me too, storms may clear out by 5 according to NOAA
Was thinking about making out Saturday afternoon ~ 2P. Am I going to be in trouble if I get there at that time?

Lovely, lovely day. So great to see everyone out. A few kites down at Old Fed, too.
Lester Ross got a few pics of Chris Pyron late today. https://www.facebook.com/groups/windsportatlanta/posts/7388964391145535/
