Water has been smooth as butta' midweek last few sessions when it hasn't been blowing 30.

It's the boat traffic in May I'm not looking forward to. Biggrin

Its smooth as butta because you are riding one of them there hydrofoils.

When I am at VP on anything with a West wind in it I look like I am doing a low budget reenactment of the Poseidon Adventure

I hope to kite at old fed but may be too much wind for me. So may kite or windsurf at Old Fed or Van Pugh. That covers it. Or may just stand around and shoot the breeze for 3 hours like the last time.

It's already blowing!

Re: Friday 3/10 afternoon session

Everyone packed up too soon. It mellowed out to a wonderful W at 15-25. When Jem Hall says reach back on the boom to oversheet he means it. I struggled on the inside jibe until I moved my back hand another zip code back and then things were much better.

Interesting day for those who missed it. We kept rigging smaller until mid to small 5s were comfortable while Barrett hung on to his 6.0 and others were bigger since few people brought small enough stuff. It was banging 25-30 by mid afternoon. Barrett, Pat P., Chris P (with the biggest van in attendance), Jim C. Alan, S., DWade, Rhett, Ed all made appearances. Langdon sailed briefly and wisely decided to decamp to Ben Franklin/Weasel Beach with Tim where Gene was kiting.

Randy just checked in and said he, Bill and Ed O. were at Galts.

Gene said 9-10 kiters at Old Fed, about the same number of WS at VP and 3 at Galts - over 20 wind+water sport types out today in the Atlanta area. Could be the biggest turnout (other than the regatta) this century. Guess this will go down as "Big Friday."

"Yes, I was there on Big Friday. It was blowing an easy 30. Spray was flying. All I had was my 7.5 and it was so overdownhauled it flapped like your grandma's..."

"Ew... Grandpa, we're trying to eat here."
