Friday 1/6

Temps in the mid 50s. Wind 10 to 18? A Friday as well.

I'm shooting for VP around 1:30.

1:30 VP live - ripples and small white caps in the channel, occasional gust at the launch. Rigging 8.0. Sunny, feels warm-ish

zoom, zoom, mofos. Dirol

Hamdi, Gene, Barrett, Chris V, Langdon and I enjoyed the afternoon. A little cooler than past days but a good 10-20+. 6.5s and 7s worked really well and Barrett sported a 6.0 for a bit.

Re: Friday 1/6

The Lake water temperature was 47ºF. This was not a discomfort until I snagged a branch foiling out in the middle of the Lake.

With recent heavy rains the Lake level has come up resulting in a lot debris in the water. Sailing along, I felt a thump and as my speed dropped, saw that my foil had snagged a branch below the surface. I then tried coming to a stop and sailing backward, but the branch was wrapped around the foil and wouldn't come off, so I dropped into the water and swimming beside the board, used my foot to kick the branch off the bottom of the foil.

Luckily it was sunny, and other than a snagged branch, a great day at the Lake.
