Where do you launch your kite at the Old Federal Park? I drove by yesterday - I saw a camping site and a Marina. Neither looked too open for a comfortable launch.
Will anyone be kiteboarding there today or tomorrow?
Gabby, welcome. What you saw was the campground and likely the lake lanier sailing club. The day use area is a turn to the right about a quarter mile prior. https://windsportatlanta.com/wiki/Old_Federal_Park
Usually a few kiters. Rig and launch from the grassy area. It's not easy but it's all we have. The icon is pretty accurate on the map on the wiki page

One kiter was at Old Federal Day park as I was leaving earlier, They don’t tend to post much on this site but they are usually either at Old Federal day park On SW - N wind days and at Vans Tavern day park on East wind days.

Thanks, you are absolutely right, the location on the map looks better.
Hope to get some wind and try it out soon. Will be happy to join any of you Kiteboarders out there. I'll be driving from Alpharetta.

Gabby, kiters also use Vann's Tavern for easterly winds like tomorrow morning. As early as possible is the usual plan for easterlies.
