freestyle kids

has anyones kids shown an interest in freestyle moves. They seem to be hooked on skateboards and bikes, why not windsurfing. It would be great to have them perform at the Atlanta Fall race. Maybe some prizes (equipment) would help them to get motivated. The Bonaire kids were incredible at the Mid-winters event in Cocoa Beach. It would be fun to have our kids perform whatever moves they can do.

Re: freestyle kids

junior wants to loop.  odds are he'll loop before his dad.  odds are he'll jibe before his dad, too.

time on the water is the big constraint, though.  small kids don't do cold water like us more kilogramically enhanced.

we took delivery of our Starboard Kiddy last week..  something like 220cm x 85 cm x 88 liters. very cool board.  I don't know how easily a kid could learn on it vs.  a Start or Nova but it looks like a great second step, a heck of a lot easier than dealing with dad's 58cm slalom board. Nice 40cm Curtis fin on the back which may find itself on my Seatrend more than a few times.  Starboard definitely doesn't scrimp on fins. It'll be interesting to see how jr. goes up the next steps on the learning curve with it.

Prizes would be great.  My son could really use a 250 cm carbon boom  ;) Dang, I just realized that the boom length on my big sails is longer than his board.  The world is getting weird.
