Yes, I'm attending. It's ALWAYS a party. Sometimes the wind blows, too. You will miss a lot if you only look at this as a "wind" event. It's a social event to celebrate windsports and hang out with friends. The racing is always lots of fun and we've had years of good breeze. But, come for the people and friendship and you will never be disappointed.

A few things are for sure– great racing in a beautiful setting, tasty food & libations aplenty, and, charter boards! There's camping in the woods right at the race site and 5 meals in a lodge style setting with a great fireplace... It's like summer camp, but for adults and nobody cares if you bring alcohol or sneak a girl into your tent! (Motels are nearby too, but book soon– it's leaf season in north Georgia).
Longboards have dominated up to now in our lake conditions but foilers are definitely hungry to give it a shot. Bring it and let's see what happens! Please contact Cody or William for Windsurfer™ LT charter boards (see attached NOR).
See you at Lake Lanier Sailing Club beginning Friday, October 13th for practice, tuning, food, drink and debauchery. Racing on Saturday and Sunday (see NOR for full schedule). Register at the race site Friday night or Saturday morning. There is no pre-registration but please RSVP me, for planning.
Cody is coming with the charter boards and can bring any gear from the shop that you need. Save shipping!
He needs a count of LT charters soon so let him know.

What is the sport category? I'm assuming Open Unlimited means anything that doesn't fit in an existing category? Do we pick one category for the weekend?
Great question!
Sport fleet is 7.5 max sail size and usually does 1 lap around the course vs 2 for open. Open are usually more experienced folks with big sails. Sport can vary from barely getting around the course to very skilled windsurfers who have no desire to use a big sail.
If you are coming for grins and giglles; and don't want to mess with big gear, Sport fleet is the call.
That does look tasty. Kind of wondering what to rig for that, though. Rig big early, hang on and risk getting crushed later in the day or smaller and risk lulls in the first races? Looks spicy for a 7 late in the day but we'll see. Euro has gusts to 29 at 4 pm while GFS is saying only 20.
Great! I hope I'm in town for it. And maybe Thea will want in too

I will be there.
I have enjoyed it every year regardless of how hard the wind blew

Current thinking on trophy groups- Open (2 laps and includes any wingers & foilers), Sport (1 lap), Windsurfer LT (1 lap) and Novice.
Cody says the last call for charters is Tuesday.
The hoodies, available as a separate purchase for $30, look like this (cute girl not included):
Oh my. If you're webguy I bet your grinning like a Cheshire cat

Meanwhile, speaking of omens:

Latest weathercat survey (NWS weather model output) shows wind coming in not quite as hard so more survivable by the masses.
Sounds fun. Questions:
1. Which races are open to wing-foilers?
2. And, on which day(s) will they be held?
Thx,

If fewer than 5 enter, Wingers would race in Open.
Quick update from llsc. Racing to begin shortly, did lunch first. 31 racers, wind is picking up, could be a wild day.
I'm heading over to Van Pugh.

It was a very fun day. Thanks to Chris, the Shell Point crew, all the volunteers and finally a decent day of wind for helping making it memorable.
