Just over a year ago I received a Chinook RDG 150-200cm carbon boom (reduced diameter). I love this boom, especially for foiling. Unfortunately, while sailing in the ocean, the boom broke at the head. Although wobbly, the rubber grip held the boom together, and I made it back to shore.

I called Chinook, and although the boom just over the one year warranty, the rep said that due to an employee shortage during the COVID pandemic, quality slipped during a short period of production on this boom. I'm happy to report that Chinook shipped a replacement front boom to me. Over many years, this is the first Chinook product that's failed. It's good to know the Company generously honored its warranty.
