Old Federal Campground is closed indefinitely until the Corps can afford to repair damage from high water erosion
Note: this is the campground, not day use area.
“There are some areas where the high water has gotten behind the gabion walls and somehow is eroding the material from behind the wall, creating sinkholes,” Rainey said. “That’s one of our unknown hazards. You can walk out on a flat, grassy surface and if the material behind that surface has eroded away, you could potentially fall in a hole.”A gabion wall is typically a retaining wall made up of stacked stone and tied together with wire.
The campground at 6219 Old Federal Road has been closed already as part of the Corps’ response to the coronavirus pandemic. Other parks remain open, including Old Federal Day Use.

If they are going to use the word "indefinitely" the property needs to be turned over to an entity that is willing to maintain / repair / modify it so that the taxpayer gets to enjoy the property we own.
The Corp was supposed to manage the property but does not own it, correct?
My understanding from their previous meetings a year or so ago is that OF campground was not profitable
Also...fix West Bank or turn it over as well.
You emerge from two weeks of hibernation to comment on this?
We miss you, Langdon. Come back soon and stay healthy in the meantime.
Hope to be on the water Sat.
If they do not fix West Bank we are going to have overcrowding at VP, Vanns and OF
