You've most likely seen the short clip but there's a really good documentary about the jump which made me appreciate the jump and rider much more.

There are some good shots also of the sea state at the time. It was pretty impressive just to be out in those conditions, never mind the jump. If I remember correctly from the vid, he was riding a 6 m kite (winds up to 50-55 knots)
